Vampires and Parasols

Horror | Western | Monsters

Written by Mark Spera

Logline: A pregnant writer investigates the story of a legendary Wild Western ghost town attacked by Dracula himself.

Synopsis: "Vampires and Parasols" delivers a riveting fusion of vampires, wild west landscapes, and a touch of superhero flair. Presented as a one-hour serialized horror/thriller, the narrative unfurls through a contemporary series of interviews between Jonathan Black Crow, a Cheyenne warrior in the role of a vampire hunter, and Jessica Martindale, a freelance writer. With echoes of "Blade," "Deadwood," and "Interview with the Vampire," this unique blend envisions the town of Rising Sun, Kansas as a gritty Deadwood counterpart, while Black Crow embodies the heroic essence of Blade. Dr. Alexander Luca, the formidable antagonist, assumes the mantle of an all-powerful vampire akin to LeStat. Amidst the unfolding plot, Jess discovers her familial link to our protagonist, and the impending birth of her child threatens Luca's bloodline and his perceived invulnerability, hurling her into a perilous struggle for survival.
